PerCuro Clinical Research Ltd. was established in Spring 2003.  It is a locally owned Victoria based company comprised of two divisions:  Clinical Research and Health Sciences.  Both are integrated to provide access to developing therapies utilizing the highest levels of care through the administration of approved, licensed medications.

We have 4 locations around Vancouver Island, head office on Yates Street, Victoria and secondary offices in Courtenay, Duncan and Langford.

Initially the location was a small office space on Pandora Avenue but over the course of the next several years PerCuro continued to grow down the hallway as space became available and our services expanded significantly.  In October of 2016 PerCuro moved to its new location at 1120 Yates Street.   We now have a team compliment of 5 office administrators and 11 specialty nurses.

Leeanna Bulinckx, BScN

CEO, Privacy Officer

Leeanna Bulinckx is a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Rheumatology and Dermatology.  She is the Executive Director of PerCuro Clinical Research.  Her focus is the care of those living with chronic, life-altering conditions.

After practicing for a number of years in the community, Leeanna was given the opportunity to work in Rheumatology and Clinical Research as part of an initiative to bring innovative treatments to those suffering with inflammatory arthritic conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis. After witnessing the benefit of these therapies, she purchased the company for which she worked in order to expand the offerings into other therapeutic areas.  As therapies were approved and available through prescription, PerCuro advanced into other areas of health care and treatment.

Leeanna has always believed that Nursing is an independent profession of well-educated practitioners with a unique focus on the needs of the individual as it relates to health care and for this reason, nurses are an integral part of the health care team.   She created a parallel nursing clinic that works with physicians to ensure continuous, comprehensive care to patients dealing with chronic illness and to provide services not currently available through the public health care system.

She is a graduate of the University of Victoria with a BSc in Nursing and is affiliated with the Arthritis Health Professionals of Canada, Association of Rheumatology Healthcare Professionals and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Our Team

Healthcare Professionals
Infusion Nurses

PerCuro has 4 infusion clinics which administer specialized medications. Our infusion nurses are skilled IV therapists and well-educated in the medications they administer and the conditions for which they are prescribed. They work not only with standard peripheral IVs but other devices such as Portacaths and PICC lines. This group of nurses are strong patient advocates who liaise with our specialty nurses as well as the physicians to ensure appropriate and safe care of those individuals.

Specialty Nurses

PerCuro has a team of nurses specialized in the areas of Gastrointestinal Medicine, specifically Inflammatory Bowel Disease such as Crohn’s and Colitis, Rheumatology, Dermatology and  Hepatology . Nurses work collaboratively with Specialists to provide patients with comprehensive care involving education, counselling, specific testing and access to appropriate medications  either in the form of a Clinical Research Study or Standard of Care options. These nurses follow patients liaising with specialists, family physicians and other appropriate resources.

Administration Staff

We have a 5 member team well qualified to provide administrative support to our nursing team.  As one would anticipate, the administrative team handles all details around document organization and support.  Our Information Technology use within PerCuro continues to expand with increasingly more of our records accessed digitally.  Data management is a very significant part of what our Admin Team oversees.

The team also focuses on first contact support for all our patients, sharing details of what they might expect during their time with PerCuro under the various programs available.  They are a strong resource for patients as well as the medical profession to ask questions regarding our services.

As of May 2, 2023, masks are no longer mandatory for all patients entering the PerCuro offices. We will continue to provide masks as an option for those who feel more comfortable wearing one.  This position will remain until such time as the Public Health Officer for BC mandates that masks will once again be required within a health facility.
